The preparation photos:

 

I think that these are the best preparation images I have taken so far since the start of this unit. This is because of the focus on the images and the angles at which they have been taken. Also the contrast between the lightest and darkest parts of the images is good making the images stronger.

These images have contrast in colour making the images work really well. Some of these images I have edited to make them brighter as the lighting was not so great at the time of the shoot. Also some came out better then others due to the composition of the food, and the angle at which I took the images.

 

 

 

For my next shoot I plan to photograph drink that has a good contrast in colour and texture.

Melons and Ice

 

Here are the Preparation photographs in black and white:

 These images worked quite well, however the lighting wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be, meaning that the shutter speed on the camera wasn't fast enough as there wasn't enough light making the images blurry. Also there is not much contrast between the melon and the wooden board which the melon was cut upon, making the images not as strong as I had hoped.

These are the best images from this shoot as there is a good contrast between the different colours and between the lightest and darkest areas of the photos. Also they have succeeded in the sense of look at shallow depth of field, as only the main part of the food/drink is in focus, bringing it to the viewer's attention to the image.

 

 

For my next shoot I plan to make another bakery product, this time with more texture and colour within the food. Then create a contrast between the food and the background to draw the viewers into the image.
